Position Summary

The Senior Director of Programs is a senior level position responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management and oversight of assigned programs. Coordinates and supervises program managers and coordinators. Accountable for the fiscal management, administration, and coordination of programs, while upholding the values and principles of Peer Support

Essential Functions 

    • Develops long-range goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations
    • Monitors various projects to ensure maximum effectiveness and compliance. 
    • Acts as a liaison for programs and services with outside agencies or community leaders. Communicates program information internally. Consults and advises within area of expertise. 
    • Manage program budgets effectively, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals and objectives. 
    • Assists with Grant writing and reporting. 
    • Advises Executive Director on program issues and requirements. Assists program coordinators with specific needs as requested. 
    • Responds to complex inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources regarding a variety of questions, such as clarification of policy and procedures. 
    • Participates in various meetings and committees.  
    • Guides, leads, reviews, verifies, observes, and manages the work of people reporting directly to you. Assists in scheduling and administrative requirements.  
    • Analyzes and interprets data that is regularly available on programs and performance. 
    • Conducts needs assessment to identify knowledge, skills, behaviors, and competencies required in selecting.  
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.  

Qualifications/Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a non-profit environment. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a team management role. 
  • Lived experience in Peer Work preferred.  
  • Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models. 
  • Knowledge of the Children’s System of Care preferred. 
  • Experience working with schools. 
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Critical-thinking and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask.

Buffalo, NY 14215: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
